Changes to Phillip Short Stay Parking (Near The Tradies) – Update

The Land Development Agency is advised of an update regarding the car park development and closure of Block 16 Section 3 Furzer Street Phillip (along with a temporary parking strategy).

A letter has been circulated to tenants in the area and car park users will also be targeted (both prior to and after. Additionally, there is information on the LDA website www.economicdevelopment.act.gov.au

Decision Re: DA 201323970 Block 8 Section 6 WODEN BUS INTERCHANGE ESD

The Woden Valley Community Council made a submission regarding the development application on a proposal for the Woden Bus Interchange. The delegate has now made a decision on that development application. Details of the submission and decision can be read here.

Minister Barr’s response to WVCC representations regarding the redevelopment of the Woden Bus Interchange suggest that (maybe!) we are making some headway!

On the other hand, the revival of Woden 9 suggests that planning on this side of the Town Centre has a long way to go. WVCC believes that the southern part of this site should become a new community hub for Woden Valley.

Woden 9 ConceptLDA drops Woden 9 (for now) but will proceed with its application for a structured car park near the Tradies Club. Dr Jenny Stewart, Chair of WVCC, has called for a coherent planning approach to the development of the Woden Town Centre.
